Privacy Policy
Short version: Pastel has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no server of its own that receives your work. Your projects stay in your browser. A few outside services deliver icons, fonts and the Lua parser, and they see your IP address like any website you load.
1. Who runs Pastel
Pastel is a free tool published at pastel.wtf. For privacy questions or requests, message us on our Discord server.
2. What stays on your device
- Your project. The menu you build (tabs, elements, settings, callback code) is saved in your browser's local storage so it is still there next time. It never leaves your device through Pastel. Clear it any time with New in the editor or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- Lua files you open. Files you open or drop into the editor are read inside your browser and are not uploaded.
- Clipboard. Pastel writes to your clipboard only when you press Copy. It never reads it.
3. Outside services
To show icons, fonts and to read Lua code, your browser downloads files from these providers. Like any web request, this shares your IP address, browser type and the requested file with them. We use them because they deliver these files quickly and reliably (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU. Links you click to other sites (for example the Obsidian docs or GitHub) follow those sites' own policies.
4. Hosting
The company that hosts pastel.wtf may keep short-lived server logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser) to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't combine these logs with anything else or use them to identify you.
5. What we don't do
- No accounts, sign-ups or passwords.
- No cookies, no analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No collection of your Roblox account, username or game data. The Lua you create runs only where you run it.
Pastel is a general-purpose developer tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal data itself, nothing extra is stored about younger users either.
6. Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Since your project data lives only in your browser, you control it directly. For anything else, message us on our Discord server. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Changes
If Pastel starts handling data differently, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Bigger changes are announced in the editor.
